About the statue:
Buddha seated in a full yogic position with his monastic robe drawn over both shoulders and hands positioned in dharma chakra mudra. After attaining enlightenment, this is the first mudra he performed in his first sermon, marking its significance post his long penance.
He is seated on a flat base. Beneath the base is kneeling female devotee and her attendant behind seated monks.
The toroidal throne on which he sits is depicted with intrigue work of floral designs with flying angels guarding him on either side of Buddha.
Two sets of elephant heads and seated lions facing on the opposite sides are to be seated on either side of Buddha.
