Remembering the legacy of a legendary star: Puneeth Rajkumar
There is a superstar who has left a formidable legacy filled with humility, kindness, and amazing movies. It is none other than Kannada Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar whose loss has made thousands of people inconsolable across the world. It was on 29th October 2021 when we were all put in collective grief as Puneeth Rajkumar, dearly known as Appu suffered from a massive heart attack. The crowds that had gathered after knowing the demise of Puneeth were deeply reflective of the number of lives that he had touched through his cinema and philanthropy. He was a lead actor in 29 films and won a National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu. The goodness of Puneeth Rajkumar defines his persona and he was supporting 16 old age homes and 19 ‘goshalas’. Thousands of girl students were supported through his ‘Shakthidhama’ organization. The warmth and affection that he has towards his fans and society at large earned him the irrefutable title of a person who always wanted to be remembered and loved for the good that he has done.
The sudden demise of a great humanitarian and actor was an irreplaceable loss to the film industry and to the close ones of the star who loved and adored him. SILAII has always been at the forefront of making sculptures of inspiring personalities who have been a source of motivation and continue to be of great importance in societies all over the world. We were flooded with requests to do Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s sculptures by his fans to relive the amazing memories of their favourite star and honour the icon who will always remain in the annals of history as a changemaker in cinema and in society.
We had gone ahead to ask for consent from Puneeth Rajkumar’s family to do a sculpture to forever serve as a reminder of his accomplishments and illustrious life. We had sent a sculpture of Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar to his family as a mark of respect and were eager to receive their feedback. Mrs. Ashwini, wife of Puneeth Rajkumar was pleasantly surprised by the initiative and the team of Puneeth Rajkumar’s production house helped us to beautifully coordinate the launching of Puneeth’s sculpture on his birthday anniversary, 17th of March. They were amazed by the brilliance and nuance of the sculpture as well as the attention we had paid to the details. It also beautifully coincided with the release of his last movie, James on the same day. Fans and well-wishers of the Superstar were absolutely delighted as they were able to rejoice the movie as well as celebrate his life through SILAII’s sculpture.
SILAII deeply believes in the motto that every human being has an icon, personality, spiritual figure, or an individual who has deeply impacted their lives and made a difference in their ideology, perspective, or their way of life in totality. We brought well-crafted sculptures of The Power Star to the homes of all his fans, where they can always cherish him, filling their lives with nostalgia, an abundance of love, and inspiration.
